In Oct 2021 Massanutten announced expansion plans for the upper mountain. When completed, Lift 6 will be a detachable quad and the lift line will be a marked trail.
In addition to the lift line trail they are adding a blue trail (this year) from the top and an advanced trail connecting Diamond Jim to the lift line trail (about 1/2 down) in the future. After 2023 season the new lift is scheduled to be added. All additions are on their website.
