I’m glad to see the lift not go to waste but I can’t see how the management could justify the costs of refurbishing this vs. how much it is needed. The terrain on that part of the mountain is rarely open and there aren’t enough skiers there to ever justify running it.
Haven’t seen them. I think this is actually Borvig’s first quad, therefore the custom portals, but I could be wrong. All of the others that I know of have overhead drives.
I’m not sure what would cause a lift to be so incompatible with Partek chairs, especially narrower and lighter ones, that they’d have to custom-fabricate the old Borvig design; plenty of Borvig lifts have received Partek chairs with no problem (likewise with old Leitner lifts back in Europe built to the design that Borvig licensed receiving newer chairs of the design that Partek licensed).
This lift is scheduled to be refurbished and brought back to service in the future.

Maybe the chairs came from Partek? I don’t know for sure, that was an educated guess.

it likely will never operate again. No demand for it. Probably worth more for scrap.

This is my home mountain and this season they are redoing the 747 lift and it will be running late this season
