With the recent buy out with silverstar, I wonder if Apex may see a bright future. Im pretty sure the resort has been for sale for 10 years. The potential to expand is huge. Its only a half hour away from popular vacation spot, Penticton and is near the 3rd biggest city in BC, Kellowna. It also is along the Crowsnest Hwy, famous for ski resorts along the way.

I think this place should re-open their terrain pod on Mount Riordan (to the right of the hill). They originally had a beginner section but cut back in the 1980s. It would make a nice beginner pod.

Was there ever a Poma lift on the run called Poma?

The older trail maps from the 1980’s & early 1990’s showed two proposed lifts, such as one from the main village to the Upper Parking Lot, as well as a lift from the Upper Parking Lot to the summit where the top of Quickdraw is.

I wonder if these proposals will ever happen, or if they previously or currently propose building out the Upper Parking Lot more by adding some lodging.

I’ve never been to Apex though, so I have no idea how busy it is there or how high (or low) budget of an operation this ski area is. But it’s on my list of places to go to!
