1960s? How long can they keep this lift operating? Sourcing spare parts must be a nightmare

From what I’ve heard, riblet parts are extremely easy to find. There’s quite a few 1960s riblets still spinning in North America.

Superior Tramway in Spokane manufactures Riblet (as well as Heron) parts. Several former Riblet employees work there as well.

This looks to me like this lift a relocation from the original Agassiz double chair. On skimap.org, this lift only appears to be in place after the removal of the Agassiz double.

I think you’re right. As Peter notes above, that style of crossarm was manufactured between 1957 and 1965. The original Agassiz was built in that timeframe.

It is a good thing that the return bullwheel was updated to a non rotating shaft type while Riblet was still in business. Aspen will probably run for a long time in its current configuration.

      Or not…sadly, it’s being replaced.

Really I haven’t seen anything on this site that says replacement in terms of being removed right now

The current master plan appears to show this lift remaining in its present form, with the bottom terminal being moved to a location further to the north.

It’s kind of amazing that MCP has kept the 60 year old Aspen around for as long as it has! A bit of a tribute to Riblet.
