Fond memories of the old avalanche chair. This run was the boogeyman as I was learning to ski, touted as the steepest hill ever anywhere and I remember being ecstatic when I finally picked my way down at age 10 or so. The old double there felt like a kind reward after challenging myself, it was more amongst the woods from what I remember and went right over top of that big cliff about 2/3rds up the line. I still compare the general vibe of chairlifts I ride to the old chair which may be a bit of a dork activity, but I’m sure (at least on this website) I’m not alone in thinking that chairlifts have distinct vibes and influence how people feel about resorts. Haven’t skied here since I was much younger but its safe to say that this run and it’s chairlift solidified my love for the sport.
