Hard to see where the extra 200 vertical feet comes from to get to management’s advertised vertical. Blatant lying about vertical drop seems to be a largely midwestern feature, though it’s interesting that some do it and others don’t.

“From the top of the flagpole to the bottom of the pond.” Their pond must be pretty deep.

Powderhorn has good skiing, but given how remote it is, management feels the need to embellish the vertical drop to get people to drive further?

As far as lifts go, I’ve never liked center pole Riblets, but Powderhorn’s are in a decent shape as far as I know. Not sure how they can get replacement parts and things won’t be good for them if they struggle to source them because ALL nine lifts are Riblets.

Riblets are still common today and a lot of parts are still available, superior tramway I believe makes parts for them.

I’m a huge fan of old center pole Riblets. I miss riding these chairs at the mountains of the Rockies as they’ve mostly been replaced by HSQs by now. I hope to take a midwestern ski trip and ski some of these little resorts with their old chairs.
