The Challenge Double originally started at around Tower 6 on the current 6-pack. There was no base area on the Valley Side, so everyone had to ski over from the Summit Lodge and then return back when done. When the Comet Quad was installed in 1994, the base area was added and the double chair was extended downhill to start there too. This is a similar case to the Independence Superchair at Breckenridge which originally did not start at a base area, but was extended downhill later on so that it did.
According to a comment on this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKQbU-J1nRs), Vista and the removed T-Bar came from Sharp Mountain, PA which closed in 1973. I believe both lifts date to the early 1960s.

Challenge chair was about 923 vertical. Replaced by the present Challenge detachable 6 seater.
