Breakaway – Wolf Ridge, NC

This lift only operated for eight seasons due to a series of unfortunate events including a fire and foreclosure of the surrounding real estate development.
As of 2019, the lift is abandoned.

    Poor lift, wish someone could save it. I hate to see such a nice piece of machinery just rotting like that. Same thing goes for their “beginner” chair. Just sad.

    This lift hasn’t moved since the fire. It was sold at auction with the rest of the real estate development around it, so it is no longer owned by the ski resort. I don’t know how much fire damage the top has. There could be a lot of damage to the electrical system that’s not visible at first glance, considering the lift shack burned down. It appears the return was repainted since the fire. It’s odd that this lift hasn’t been sold since it clearly will never operate again in this location.
