With the alpine slide gone i wonder if there even gonna run it in the summer time. Shame that they got rid of it I had a lot of fun on that alpine slide growing up.

Never got to ride that one. How did it compare to the one at Park City?

Mild compared to Park city. Only been on park city’s slide once but its way longer than Snowbirds

Was fun but was very old and time to replace. Looks like they leveled the track and did the good ol regrade. Reminds me of when vail took out the canyons bike park when they replaced the original bike park lift there. That one was sad. The slide created so much noise pollution in the canyon though, could hear that thing from Alta and the top of superior.

It was pretty loud yeah, Clunk clunk clunk clunk clunk clunk as somebody went down especially if they were moving. Around 2022 or 2023 they replace the slides with slower ones. Before that it was extra fun and dangerous. Never flew out but i know some people who did.

It would be interesting to know why Powdr went with SkyTrac vs Doppelmayr as it has several towers sitting at Mt. Bachelor from the former Skyliner Express that could have been used. I know the HSQ carriers are heavier, but some components could have been reused in my opinion.

Just speculation but perhaps they got such a great deal they went that route. perhaps also, those towers from Skyliner are going to be used for another project?

Isn’t this new bottom terminal location a lot worse? Looks like it will be impossible to get to this without taking your skis off, which is bad for everyone taking this to the Cliff Lodge or the parking up there.

Agree, seems odd. Guess you gotta do a 360 around the tram deck or fly down next to p dog
