I know it is in the works, but they really need to build the connector lift from Canyonside to Skyline. Honestly, the cheapest used fixed-grip will do. It is really ridiculous to have to use the shuttle.
Local reports right now off of facebook community and local volunteer firefighting in the area are that it’s hit the main lodge and many condos around it and moving fast. confirmation is expected today. No idea about mountain infrastructure as of yet but probably has or is taking a bad hit. They’ll know more soon.
They released some videos and photos of the damage today. From what I can tell:
Lookout- Drive terminal looks good, but might be some heat damage to chairs and towers further up the line?
Monarch- Defenitly some chairs got melted and heat damage, likely tower and cable heat damage. Haul cable did not de-rope.
CanyonSide- Bottom terminal/Drive Terminal- Drive itself looks ok from the photo I could see, but the bottom operator shack burned down. Heat damage/burn marks on bottom terminal leg. Top operator shack burned down.
Skyline- Looks good.
Not sure about Tushar Platter but they are saying 4 of the 5 lifts took some sort of damage.
Did you mean that Monarch sustained no damage, while Skyline might have sustained some?
Regarding the platter lift, they did post a photo of one of the platters on Facebook. Based off the fact that the platter is still on the line, plus the haul rope looks tensioned enough (top left), the platter could’ve sustained similar heat damage to the other lifts.
wasn`t this place abandon for many years?

You are correct. I think it sat dormant for about 10 years.

I believe that Holly double was the only Heron Poma to be in Utah. Does any one have photos of the top or bottom terminals?

There was some towers standing in the middle of the ski run. Does anyone know what lift this was?

A fire started yesterday and within one night its already at eagle point, not sure how likely the mountain will survive this.

Yeah, I don’t know how it could with how fast it went from 0 to 24,000+ acres in one day/night. Sad to say the least.

Yeah. It is very sad. Spent some time up in those mountains.
