Just rode this lift last week. Thanks to the cliff it’s one of the scariest chairs I’ve ever ridden, very similar to Whistler’s peak chair. But great location, it really transforms how you ski this area of the resort.

If you ride middle bowl triple at snowbasin. the lift line gets super high because it crosses a trail that is in a small ravine/canyon. I been on peak express at whistler blackcomb and it did not scare me but was super fun to ride. Middle bowl I hold on extra tight because its the only lift a snowbasin without restraining bars. Its also the oldest at snowbasin since wildcat got replaced.

This chair should be removed once the new high speed quad from base to summit is possibly built. I’ve skied at Whitefish for 13 years now and use to always go into this area before it was installed. Now that the chair is in I haven’t gone in the east rim area for the past 3 years. The lift has completely ruined this area of the mountain and it is now 24/7 a complete minefield of moguls. This lift sucks.

I think it’s gonna stay for the time being since let’s face it, I think Whitefish needs to do more to eliminate the long run outs on that part of the main face of the mountain.

This lift almost cost the mountain back in december 2018. Almost rolled back and probably would have killed people.

When this lift was the glacier view lift it had no safety bar installed. When it was moved to make the east rim lift they added safety bars. Good thing considering the cliff.

This is prime territory to find snow ghosts.
