The city of Calgary leased the Shaganappi golf course to a private operator from the late 1960s until 1978. A Mueller t-bar operated there from 1973 until it closed.
Happy Valley also operated a small ski area in what is now the Valley Ridge neighbourhood. They had a Poma platter and 3-4 runs.
There were proposals for ski areas in Bowness park and Nose Hill park, but nothing came of them.
Yeah, I saw one of your videos on those hills. Nose hill would have ok terrain, but little vertical, and pretty bad exposure. It’s just better as a park. Some days it just feels like the Olympic park can’t handle the traffic (although the new day lodge is going to help).
There were once 2 other t-bars at this hill. Google still shows them, and their top terminals still stand beside the road and are visible from that road. One has an adverstisement on it I believe.
The smallest ski areas have the biggest names.

Edmonton has a surprising amount of ski hills! Would be nice if Calgary could have at least another one. 😭
