F – Elk Mountain, PA

This is the newest lift at Elk as of 2021.
Tower 16 is one of only two towers not shared with parallel Lift E.
Breakover towers.
This is also the only non-double at Elk.

This is a similar scenario to the Little Whiteface and Mountain Run lifts at Whiteface, where CTEC took an existing Hall double and made it into a tandem lift. The double was called the North Chair. In 1994, CTEC replaced the old Hall towers with new CTEC tandem towers, installing the existing Hall equipment onto one side. In the meantime, the new quad was built on the other side. The difference is that here, the quad was completely new, while with the lifts at Whiteface, the Mountain Run side which was added later reused parts from a different lift.

This lift broke down in early February on a Sunday. Lots of people waited a while to be evacuated. I believe they had it going just in time for Presidents day weekend. They desparately need new lifts. The rest of their lifts are 50 plus years old.
