Falcon – Big White, BC

The Powder chair used components from the 1971 Powder lift with some new ones as well.
The centre pole chairs are original.
Looking up the middle part of the line.
Mellow lower lift line.
’90s-style bottom terminal with drive and tensioning.
Lift overview.
Motor room.
Riding up the line.
View back down.
Breakover towers with added lifting frames.

Another view at the fixed return unit.

This is such a cool chair to ride I really hope it isn’t replaced for a while. It is such a special feeling to ski this bowl and lap this lift. the limited capacity is ideal for the terrain.

you know when I look at this lift I think the stuff supporting the motor room, the motor room, and return bullwheel must be custom fabricated. If you look at lifts like Wilbere at snowbird they had that style of bullwheel and counterweight. I dont think Doppelmayer used those bullwheels and counterweights in the 90s.

If you read Peter’s captions you’ll learn that this was built from parts of the original Westridge lift, built in ’71- so quite similar to Wilbere.
