Why do so many older Doppelmayr chairlifts have two variations of the same chair on one lift?

Most of the chairs on this lift are a bit square-like, but if you look, every couple chairs there’s one that’s curved.

At one point this lift was modified and several chairs were added. The square ones are the originals and the rounded ones are the ones that were added.

Lifting Frames are to be added on this lift in 2019. Will they ever use this lift anymore tho? Now that the Gondola runs right near it and unloads where it does.

After the installation of the gondola, this lift will hardly ever run. It hardly ran this year. It only ran daily when Rosebrook Summit wasn’t installed.

I wonder if bretton woods will relocate it elsewhere. It might be a good replacement for the old b-lift double.

Id assume their next project of any sort will be after 2023, due to the money put into the Gondola and lodge and because of covid

I don’t think that would happen. The gondola and Bethlehem Express are supposed to have all the out of base capacity needed and the gondola capacity can be upgraded if necessary.

I could be wrong, but in 2020, a cabin and grip for that machine cost $50,000…

Looks like Fabyan’s has been retired. It has also been removed from the trail map. Had a conversation with a Bretton Woods employee about it recently, who also mentioned a Bethlehem replacement and realignment in the future.

Was at Bretton Woods yesterday and all the chairs have been removed from the line, and I saw advertisements they are selling the chairs.
