I painted a yellow ring on both bullwheels on the old Flyer. Because why not.

Sandia’s Chair 1 once used yellow bullwheels, until the 70s or 80s, until they were painted red. The green and yellow paint scheme is similar to this as well

I like colored bullwheels. This one best, it’s a good contrast.

I could certainly agree. So far, I’ve mostly seen red bullwheels (Sandia Peak and Ski Santa Fe). I’ve also seen such painted in green or orange (Taos)

I’m sure Hoodoo doesn’t have the budget, based off of how they were never heavily crowded whenever I visited. Nor is it a massive resort with any obscenely long fixed grip chairlifts, but I always wonder to myself how the ski resort dynamic in Oregon would shift if Hoodoo replaced this lift with a detachable chairlift. Bottom to top, quick access to Hoodoo’s shockingly great variety of terrain for a resort of their size. I wonder how many more skiers & snowboarders it would draw away from Mt. Hood and Mt. Bachelor.

From the people I spoke with at Hoodoo, the people that ski there tend to be tired of the prices and crowds of Mt. Hood and Mt. Bachelor, and people come from both sides of the Cascades, not just the mid-Willamette Valley.

Again, although I’m sure it’ll never happen, I think this lift becoming a high speed quad would be a massive improvement to the Hoodoo experience, and I’m not the type of person that advocates for every single chairlift at every resort to be a detachable quad.
