I think it may be because of the hubcap sheaves on the return. The Yan hubcap sheaves were prone to cracking. I agree, it does seem like a little much to replace the whole terminal when there’s only two potentially faulty sheaves.
The Terminal was suffering from the typical yan cracking issues on the spokes and elsewhere, the bearings were going and the terminal lacked adjustability in both sheave beams due to a past installation error, since all these issues needed to be repaired a new terminal was a more efficient fix.
This was the Germania lift when it operated at Alta. It was replaced by the upper half of Collins, which has a mid-load turn station where Germania started.

Anyone know why this just got a new Skytrac return? Seems kind of strange, I didn’t think much could go wrong with the Yan one that it had.

It was because the bullwheel flange was cracking and the bullwheel was making weird noises that were not from the Berings
