Why were the mountain’s newest lifts removed and replaced with rope tows? Wouldn’t it make more sense to keep a higher capacity front side and shorten the two Riblets to the back side? Are they hurting for money? I am assuming that the capacity of the Riblets is combining both the uphill sides.
The rope tows at Little switz are high speed and they run much faster and allow for a guest to get in 2-3 runs on the front side while the people riding the double only get one lap during that time. Im not entirely sure why they took down the Qaud but I can assure you that the magic carpet they have in that area makes a lot more sense for beginners. Today that quads return still stands further up the beginner area and the drive building serves as a warming hut. As for the hall double I am not quite sure where this lift was located in the small area they have but I will look for some old foundations next time I am there. Also shortening the riblets to the back sounds like a good idea but I’m not sure if its practical because of the lack of space at the summit of little switz. One more thing as well would be that the owners here are certainly not hurting for money since they own nordic mountain and have bought the rock snowpark within the past 4 years.
