This is the only detachable here with a normal-length ride time, with the other 2 having ride times of under 3 minutes. It is also the only lift to have footrests, at least as of when I last went here 2 years ago

Why did the use the “Garaventa-style” chair on this lift? Most of the lift that are similar to this one have the rounder CTEC style chairs.

Because it was Garaventa CTEC, you had the option. When we planned the new quads at Baker in the early 2000s we specced the Garaventa carriers because they’re easier to stuff kids on than the CTEC carriers, due to the Garaventa bail being swept back out of the way.

Will this lift be scrapped when the 6-pack goes in next year? It’s only 25 years old

I was just at Corralco in Chile, talking with their GM there, they purchased this quad and will be installing it at Corralco this summer. It is going to replace their upper double chair Volcan. In turn they are moving Volcan to go from the base of it’s old base up to the middle of the Navidad poma so it can operate on windy days.

This was my first ever high speed quad and I absolutely loved this lift. I have several videos of this lift on my GoPro. Definitely a shame they moved it to South America instead of replacing one of the slower lifts like Cindy or something?

The lift is installed, running and closing in on testing here at Corralco. I have spent a month here this summer between 4 trips working on wiring it and getting it back up and running. 28 year old electronics are a little finicky and I pulled a lot of hairs out but it seems to be running pretty good and we do some final testing hopefully this week as a huge storm is happening right now. Ironically enough I helped wire it in September of1996 at HV when I was young and green. Where did 28 years go?
