I taught myself how to ski switch under this lift during ski school lunches back in the day. As a lift to almost nowhere it had a very chill vibe and low ridership. I can barely believe a lift I grew up skiing has been removed! Considering you already had to walk uphill to both Face Lift and now Warhorse (still lost on why they named it that), I somehow doubt they will put anything else in this alignment unless ORDA wants to stop consolidating ski school to rider’s left, which again is doubtful.
Mixing Bowl will be missed by very few but I will cherish the memories nonetheless.
It was named Warhorse after Andrew Weibrecht, who at 2 different olympics shocked the world by winning a medal in the super g. He learned to ski at whiteface and was a lake placid native. His nickname on the US Ski Team was “warhorse” because of the way he attacked the mountain when he skied. They also named the ski racing center after him as well.
I wonder why they didn’t put a surface lift here. Probably would have been much less expensive, and easier to maintain

It replaced a T-Bar. Nowadays it would just be a carpet, but at the time a chairlift was seen as a fit replacement.

Carpets didn’t exist in 1984, when this was built.
