Im not sure either, my guess would be that stage one was built in 1996 and stage 2 was built in 1992, so the line has a mix of older and newer cabins. Just a guess
All 3 stages built and deployed as one system in December 1996. Main line only ran at 50% capacity (gondolas on line) in early years. Newer cabins added recently to increase capacity, though most are still original cabins that have been exhaustively reconditioned.
Interesting this gondola has two different types of cabins. Why is that?

I don’t think so. Stage I was built in ’96, but the Omega III model, the first one with full hight windows wasn’t introduced until ’98.

On the spreadsheet, stage 1 is marked as Garaventa CTEC, but this one is just marked as CTEC. Is there a reason for that?

Stage 2 was built before CTEC formally merged with Garaventa (although in the same year they merged), and Stage 1 was built after the merger.
