What an absolute unit of a lift. Cool sheaves, wonder about how reliable they are though, given it is a late-era Yan.

It looks like the original chairs and grips were replaced, photos from other sites show Type 6 grips on this lift. This may have been the last Yan quad with type 6 grips, I believe Loveland operates the last Yan with Type 6 grips. Regarding the sheaves, I’m not sure if the sheave assemblies themselves had issues but most Yan lifts in general have had their combination assemblies replaced. Regardless, it’s great to see late model Yan lifts still operating.

Most sheave assemblies on this lift have been replaced; you can see the originals in the photos on Remontees-Mecaniques. The new assemblies look to be custom-fabricated but loosely based on 70s-era Yan designs. As for the replacement chairs, I suspect they came from the Skye Peak Quad and/or Devil’s Fiddle Quad at Killington, as those lifts had the same model of grip and chair and also had CCW rotation. The safety bars on the replacement chairs are probably newer than the chairs themselves.
