I like both of them. It’s nice Doppelmayr seems to have finally settled on a few designs rather than the crazy number of options after the merger (Aurora, Eclipse, Orion, Galaxy, Gemini, Intrepid, Northstar, Northstar LT, Pegasus, Sprint, Uni-Star, Uni-DT etc.)
I wish Leitner-Poma had gone with the consistency strategy and modeled a fixed terminal after the LPA. Even if it was just a new terminal skin for the Alpha.
The old triple was pretty unique, but this is a nice upgrade. With the new HSQ this year I think that more folks will consider skiing here. It is a pretty cool place to ski. I wonder when they will replace Flathead.
I mean, it’s called Red’s because it’s named for Robert Redford. But you’re right, they really should either repaint the lift or rename it Green’s for consistency purposes.
The “Alpinstar” drive must be a Uni-Star drive with tensioning on it.

It’s more comparable to a SkyTrac Monarch drive.

Yeah, but it has the same motor house design as the Uni-Star.
So basically it’s like a mix of the Uni-Star and the monarch.

I think the Alpen Star looks better than the Tri-Star. What do you think, Peter?

Once the new lifts go in, this won’t be the only lift on the hill with footrests.
