This was the Superchief fixed grip quad at Belleayre. It was built in 1999 and only operated 7 seasons before going detachable. Most of the tower tubes stayed at Belleayre and were reused on the detachable. This lift mostly reuses tower tubes from the Hall double it replaced. The others were either new or leftover tubes that Belleayre did not need in the conversion. At Belleayre, this lift would’ve had around 220 chairs based on the length, speed, and capacity. 104 were reused at Belleayre and the rest were sent here. The tower heads, line gear, drive, and return all came from Belleayre.

This lift has 400 horsepower. Once,a mouse fried all of the electronics,so the motor has to be rebuilt. Cost 13500. In the next two weeks the drive is going to be replaced.

400 hp is way oversized for a lift of this length. It has the original motor from Belleayre where the lift was about a mile long.

If this is Superchief, then where did the chairs come from? Belleayre re-used them on the Belleayre Express.

I would imagine that the current Superchief did not use all of the chairs from its fixed grip predecessor, typically detachable lifts have less chairs than fixed grips of a similar capacity.
