Why is there a comline when the top station is unmanned?

It’s to get the signal from the camera at the top to the monitor at the drive terminal.

There’s probably also a stop gate at the top

As of the 2018-2019 ski season, this lift was converted to clockwise rotation, with 90-degree unloading on the top bull wheel.

There is also a lift shack (looks like a recycled Yan one) at the top now too.

90 degree unloading on a fixed grip?

Yes. The line speed is very slow, and it is a bit awkward on the unload. I’m not sure why they changed it, but it seems to work fairly well since the unload point is pretty small.
