You know what, I hate this lift. Every time you go up to grouse on a busy day, you can expect 1 hour line ups on this lift. Grouse makes a ton of money so i dont get why they replace this thing with a 6 seater.
Not at all. It needs to be a 6. This is the main chairlift for grouse. everyone goes to grouse just because they dont have to drive and lines can get worse then whistlers. I also think putting extensive upgrades on the chairlift would be a giant waste of money. The lift is decently old for a detach, and has seen better days. If you dont believe me about the lines, come to grouse and you will find out.
No it’s not. it’s made in 2000. That’s actually relatively new. They are at least going to get 10 more years, maybe more on this lift, and more chairs would help a lot. It doesn’t need to be six yet.
Yesterday when I checked the webcam, I saw that it was running super slow. I was wondering why, but then I realized that it was running from the fixed mid. If and when this lift gets replaced, they should probably build a detachable mid-station.
They recently replaced the top logo decal and removed the poma logo for whatever reason. I still think a 6 is the most practical since this lift has lines even at 10pm… But if you think about it more, it may be a bad investment due to climate change, especially with The Cut having snow problems since the 80s.
Even with The Cut (The run under screaming eagle) having some of north americas biggest and oldest snowmaking, Once the temp is about 4 (metric) you cannot snowmake.

I think all they really need to do is add more chairs to bump the lift up to 2,800 pph.

Since grouse is not getting enough snow this year to cover the entire cut, the screaming eagle mid station starts running tomorrow.

This lift is in really bad condition. You can’t really see it in pictures
