This is the former First Time triple with new towers. It was relocated here a year before it was completed and opened. The Doppelmayr CTEC catwalks on the first two towers were removed after the first year for swing clearance with the CTEC chairs on the steep climbout.

The First Time high speed quad reused the entire towers from the triple chair (if you look closely, some of the CTEC catwalks don’t match the number of sheaves).

This lift has 2005 style tower heads, even though it opened in 2006, so it sat here unused for a year.

Due to scheduling constraints, this lift hasn’t operated at all this season.

Any chance this lift will become detachable at some point? It’s fairly long, and I feel like it should be re-routed to let off where the old Eagle lift used to, right before Vista

The base facilities here are so limited that the lift is practically a real estate access lift for Thaynes Canyon residents. PCMR would want the base facilities to be expanded if the lift was upgraded to essentially create another mountain portal and ease congestion elsewhere, but nearby residents would protest that, so there is really little incentive to do anything. The lift barely operated at all last season, which shows how little importance it has for the overall mountain operations at this moment.

I think that PCMR should try to do some development, upgrade this lift to a HSQ, routed to the top of King Con with a mid station at the to of Vista, and encourage at least local traffic to use this lift, especially because it is on the bus route.

I honestly like that idea since Silver Star doesn’t really take you anywhere right now and requires more lifts (e.g King Con, Silverlode, etc.) to really get up the mountain. They can have the lift start in a slightly different location, but regardless it’ll take some dirt work to fit even the shortest possible detachable terminal.

When i was there the first depression tower was shaking quite a bit whenever a chair would pass under, is that normal?
