Ski Big Bear is what I would consider a semi-private mountain. It is owned and operated by the Masthope Mountain Community, so all residents help pay for its operation as a part of their dues and receive season passes. However, the general public can also purchase lift tickets and season passes. This model has been fairly successful and it is what I think the Hermitage Club should mimic in their operations, as it retains some of the exclusivity they desire while providing additional outside capital.
