Im typing this comment while currently riding this lift because it’s so slow and I have nothing else to do, lol. Hopkins actually entered the ropeway market by building lifts branded as Roebling from 1962-1965. After that, Hopkins spun off and did their own thing which was get into the amusement park business, building these skyrides as well as log flumes, other various boat rides, and a few roller coasters. A few Hopkins branded ski lifts did indeed make it onto ski slopes, starting with one at Gore from 1966. The last remaining Hopkins that transported skiers spun its last lap in 2015 at Saddleback
Was Hopkins a popular manufacturer of these? Wonder if the original one in Toronto island was made by them
