I will be 70 my next birthday, and I watched my uncle put these poles in the ground. My father would take us up there to watch the progress. It was really a tough job,I’m sure. I don’t know how old I was, and I don’t know exactly the year I was curious to see if you all knew. I remember we rode the lift up after it was done, and we took our grandmother with us. She was really afraid but they convinced her to go.His name was Charlie Green Mays Jr. know as Junior.

Interesting window-style AC unit on the drive terminal. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a drive terminal with AC before 🤣

The database says this lift was installed in 1967, as does the Natural Bridge website. Must’ve been cool to be one of the first riders!
