This has never even been hinted at, but could this at some point be replaced with a high speed quad? Once the planned double runner replacement happens, this and Sawduster will be the oldest chairlifts at the resort. Being almost a mile long, I feel like it would have to be high speed. So would it become a quad or are they just going to entirely re-design the condo access/learning area below the base lodge?
Another crazy option would be to have a two stage Gondola that passes through the base area before shooting up to the summit.
I like the high speed quad idea but if we are being realistic, this area doesn’t warrant anything more than a fixed grip quad with a loading conveyor. The 2 stage gondola wouldn’t work because of the wicked high wind at the summit.
It’s a lift people ride once a day for the most part coming out of their condos (maybe twice if you go back for lunch). I don’t think it would be worth a detach given that you’d also need a pricey mid-station as well. Fixed grip quad would be all that I’d see here.
