Does anyone know why there is a teddy bear on one of the chair hangars? Last chair marker? Also the are 2 different kinds of safety bars on the lift. The ones with straps hanging from the bar were added after these photos were taken.
“CTEC (Cable Transportation Engineering Corporation) was founded in 1977 by Jan Leonard and Mark Ballantyne who were both former Thiokol employees. When Thiokol got out of the aerial lift industry in 1976 to pursue the manufacturing of booster engines for NASA, it sold its aerial lift designs to Leonard and Ballantyne in 1978.”
The first 10 years of CTEC lifts were all petty much just re-branded Thiokols. The first lift I know of with the modern CTEC carriers was installed in 1985. Even then, CTEC continued borrowing Thiokol elements in their lifts.

Is this lift still due to be replaced by a gondola?

Yes, once one of their plans is approved.

This lift looks oddly similar to a Thiokol triple like Ellis at Homewood

CTEC was basically a continuation of Thiokol. http://www.skilifts.org/old/chairlift_manufacturers_ctec.htm
