This Borvig double replaced a longer one called Dream and is named for the defunct ski resort which it came from.Top terminal with snowflake bullwheel.Upper part of the lift line.Lower lift line.Loading area.Lift overview.
They never ever open this lift? Any reason why? I’m assuming one is management and two is lack of workers. I love the paint on the lift. Don’t really think they need this lift honestly?
I have been told that this lift has never carried a passenger at KB. It was installed to replace the Dream double chair, but interestingly is actually installed along the lift line of a Hall T-bar (not listed on this website) that was removed after the Slalom Quad was installed in 1988. The lower terminal is slightly further up the hill than the T-bar but the upper terminal is in the same place as the T-bar.
There are also two other T-Bars missing from the website. One was located to the left of the Slalom Quad the lift line is now labeled as a snowmobile access trail on the trail map. That T-bar was also a Hall and had a mid station and a place to ski through the lift line right where the North Shuttle meets Slalom.
There was one that used to serve a bunny hill, now moved to Central near the Quad chair to access a terrain park and another one further to the north that served snow tubing on what used to be the little known Murray Hill Ski Club. That was replaced by a magic carpet for tubing and now sits at the bottom of where the coal chute lift now is. Both were actually handle tows but were converted to Rope tows when moved to their new locations.
This was bought from the now defunct Tanglewood Ski Area in PA after it closed in 2010. It was installed there sometime in the early 1980s, I believe.
