There were once two chairlifts serving Ullr Mountain but only this Riblet remains.Loading area at tower 1.Riding up the line.View down the first pitch.Middle part of the line.Unloading at tower 12.The top terminal and tension carriage.Top operator house.Riblet towers.View down the line.Upper part of the line.
This lift really needs to be replaced. I feel like this lift is getting more and more unreliable each year and is very hard to load for beginners. I think a nice new quad would fit nicely in here (with carpet if they have the money.) Also this lift is painfully slow and stops often, so a new lift would solve all of this 😀
They have a lot of old lifts. I’ve only been there once and that was right before they added gator express or whatever, and that one seemed like the one they least likely needed to replace. I agree it was a little tough to load (me being a beginner) but it was even harder to unload.
I think that this one needed replacing more than 10th mountain but yes, it is a little hard to unload and load for beginners / intermediates (like me).
Lines aren’t usually a problem, but more the fact that it’s a center pole double which aren’t exactly easy to load. This lift Also serves the only green trails from the base with the removal of the 10th mountain chair

I think ideally Bridge and this would be good to become high speed quads, or fixed quads with carpets.

I think it’s too short for a high-speed it probably be a nice quad. They need to carve more trails in this pod

A classic ’70s Riblet double.

this lift is probably next for replacement as mystery barely gets used

In picture 1, is that a brake that acts directly on the rope? I’ve never noticed something like that on a Riblet before.

Yes. It’s called a Traction Rope Brake, and only works on Riblets.

Seems like a cool lift, but seems like it could be a chokepoint if this is the only lift for this part of the mountain.

This seems like a classic old giblet, but it seems problematic as the only portal to this part of the mountain.

I think these type of tension carriages on Riblets are quite cool.
