Whitefish numbers their chairs but not their two T-Bars.
1 – Big Mountain Express
2 – Swift Creek Express
3 – Tenderfoot
4 – Great Northern
5 – East Rim
6 – Base Lodge
7 – Big Creek express
8 – Hellroaring
9 – Easy Rider
10 – Bad Rock
11 – Flower Point
Real estate lift Elk Highlands is the only one not listed with a number. When Whitefish builds their new lift to Hellroaring Peak in a couple of years, it will likely receive the 12 designation.
Do we know where precisely the base on New Chair 4 (Snow Ghost Express) will be? It’s drawn here between Chair 10 and the carpet, but was it drawn that way just for convenience? They seem pretty packed in there. Might they move the carpet to the east (lookers right)? Or might the new lift’s bottom terminal be between the carpet and Chair 9? I know they did some prep work last offseason so maybe someone got some intel before the snow covered up all the work that was done.
He’s very consistent about lifts that run with cabins some of the time, but are chairlifts in their primary configuration. The BMX here, old Zephyr at Winter Park, and Glacier at Louise are all listed as 4-CLD, not as a Chondola.
Whitefish is having a terrible year. Two lift evacuations so far this year, including one on the new Lietner Poma 6-pack. Chair 2 has barely run all season. Management has been shifty/silent on what exactly is going on. Place is a mess.
I really like how Whitefish makes use of used lifts, be it fixed grip or high speed.

If you look at the Poma at Big Rock in Maine, Sunrise looks the same!

Where is the new Poma 6-pack going? Is it replacing Chair 1, even though Chair 1 isn’t that old?

It’s replacing Great Northern, and running from the Base Lodge up to the former top of Glacier View.
