You spelled “View down the line” wrong on the second to last pic.

This lift has since gotten new chairs, as the frame is now a circle pipe instead of square pipes. Anyone know where they came from?

I was thinking either Gad 2 or Peruvian.

          Peruvian ran counter clockwise.

It was Gad 2, they still had the square ones in the early 2010s.

Why exactly do I keep hearing about them wanting to replace this lift. I cant think of any good reason for that. There are many lifts around that would be a better candidate, such as Gadzoom. This lift does not really ever have lines and it serves a nice secluded area to ski while the rest of the mountain is crowded.

The bottom terminal is going to be next to Mid-Gad (but the top terminal will be at the same location)

Unfortunately the drive terminal is now considered a “safety hazard” due to issues of fire code which is on its own very dangerous. On top of that the bottom terminal sits on a wet land. It is a shame to lose another legend of Utah. I was trying to convince snowbird on keeping this Wilbere lift and adding the new Wilbere lift on its modified line to be able to get the best of both worlds but I guess its to far out of reach….

I wish Lake Louise did the same as you asked Snowbird for their old Summit platter, build the new quad and keep the lift, but that obviously never happened :(

There is no easy way to get from creekside to the Snowbird center. Even if you take mid-gad, the mid-station stops just below the cattrack needed to cutover (unless you hike up 100 vertical feet and traverse across upper big Emma 😬).

The only way to get to the Snowbird Center, on skis, is to take gadzoom or mid-gad to the top, which doesn’t have any beginner terrain.

I’ve also heard that team snowbird wants a more direct way to access the race course.

Seems like a smart decision, especially considering the lift is starting to get old.

After working the lifts in Gad Valley last winter I definitely see why they wanted to replace this lift.

R.I.P. Tomorrow is Wilber’s last day. Get the laps while you can. After this the terrain will not be the same.
