Why did Snowbasin make Wildcat a six person? I usually never see six people on this lift

They probably wanted heavier chairs for wind related purposes.

Probably a case of trying to revitalize that area, like what the Casper quad did at Jackson Hole or Snowdon Six did at Killy.

Comfort, wind, marketing, and the possibility that they might need it in the future.

If they ever need capacity, that could probably be done by adding additional chairs.

I think they could add about 25 or so chairs if they need a quick boost.

How much of a boost would 25 chairs do, just curious? Could that increase the capacity to 3000 pph?

According to my math 25 six pack chairs would be 150 people. It’s a 5 min ride time so it takes a 10 minute loop. 150 times 6 is 900 and 2400+900 equals 3300. So that would boost capacity up to 3300.

For wind I feel like this lift could have easily gone with the Peruvian approach and just kept quad chairs but six line gauge, I dont think I ever see crowds here

I’m assuming they’re re-configuring the lift maze for Wildcat this year with the upgrading of Becker, given that Becker’s bottom terminal is right up against Wildcat’s. (From what I can see on the webcam, I think they’re going with 90 degree loading for Becker unless they can somehow squeeze a sharp turn into the maze; maybe they’re also converting Wildcat to in-line loading similar to what Middle Bowl and DeMoisy have.)

I saw the same thing when I was watching them splice last week. I thought I might be able to get over to Snowbasin this week as I had a business trip in Salt Lake, but it’s not looking like I’ll be able to swing up north.
