       Mt. Hood Meadows replaced Buttercup with a SkyTrac quad for the 2017-18 season, the lift in these pictures is the old Buttercup double that was removed last summer.

     Yes. They needed a quad. On busy days the lines for the lift could get quite long (which is exactly what you don’t want on a beginner lift if you want to get people excited about skiing).

   it was sad to see the lift i learned to ski on get eviscerated by a metal claw
