Until Zop retired, comfort bars were anathema. I agree that there’s something off, though. I kinda think the only CTEC lineage carriers that had any flair were the 70s Thiokols, pacifier bars or not. (I really, really dig the old Dopp triples, but that’s pre-merger by much years.)
I’ve been lucky enough to work with Zop the last couple years, he is a wealth of knowledge. He some how taught a group of inexperienced volunteers how to replace a haul rope.
Probably a holdover from when we had a separate chair 4 :)
I bet this one is more difficult to bump than the old one. I could pick the old chairs up by myself, they were so light.
i personally think doppie chairs look really bad without bars

These aren’t Doppelmayr, these are late Garaventa CTEC chairs.

Did you know Zop? Also, I dig the term ‘pacifier bars’. I may have to steal it- I’ve always hated when people call them ‘safety bars’.

It’s Zop’s fault I’m still a mechanic. He definitely has been there and done that.

These chairs have since had bars added, same with Chair 5 @ Baker. Second year working up there and these chairs are absolutely brutal to bump.

Also any idea if you could change the chair name to Chair 3/4? That’s what we actually call it ;D

Even loading backward with no bump didn’t hurt. Falling off did, at least my pride, but that’s not M-L’s fault.
