We are very sorry that unfortunately we are not able to open today as we had hoped, but we thank you all for your patience as we prepare to open the gondola. Read the full update on our blog: https://t.co/CzLx3ehSmM
Progress continues on the new American Flyer 6-person bubble chair, coming soon! Leitner Poma is testing the drives and controls and will begin acceptance testing soon with the CO Passenger Tramway Safety Board. This process can take from 3 days to a week. Stay tuned for updates! pic.twitter.com/jCTpt6HbNB
There are quite a few other new lifts that have yet to open:
-Snowbowl Express at Stratton
-Promenade at Catamount
-High Country at Waterville Valley
-Quad at Frost Fire
-South Ridge at Killington
-ATV Poma at Killington
-Green at Magic Mountain
-Expert at Vallee du Parc
Almost all in the Northeast, which got a lot of early season snow.
I was at Killington on 12/8 and 12/9. For South Ridge, there was still a lot of physical work (finishing the terminals, installing the haul rope) to be done, despite full snow coverage. It seems that they just ran out of time.
“Due to contractual obligations the opening of the 2018/2019 Outdoor Recreation Area is temporarily delayed, this includes skiing, snowboarding and tubing. Updates will be made as we continue to gather more information.”
And given the huge amount of lifts that were ordered for this season, there is only so much that can be done in such a short period of time. nothing to be concerned about though. If they don’t get it in this season, there will be plenty of other seasons following.

Copper missed their x-mas opening with the American Flyer too. Not a great look for the first year of the IKON in the Denver area.

Does anyone know why these lifts have been so delayed this year?

Frost Fire’s lift is complete guessing they don’t have enough snow.

Don’t forget the “Presidential Bahn” Gondola at Bretton Woods (at least at Eldora someone told them the name sounded dumb so they changed it…)

The name now seems to be Bretton Woods Skyway Gondola.
