I asked Red Lodge this morning if they could clarify whether the incident involved a deropement and they said they could not elaborate. Deropement is what I’ve been hearing. I don’t know if the public will ever know for sure.
The Heavenly incident earlier this season Vail said nothing other than “an incident occurred.” The State of Nevada had no involvement and the Forest Service “incident report” was one page with “chair lift accident Heavenly ski resort” being the only sentence.

“incident”?? So what happened? Was there a mechanical problem? User error? Did the skier fall off the chair?
