The original chairlift from Sasquatch Mountain Resort’s inaugural 1969-70 season will be replaced this summer with a Leitner-Poma fixed grip quad chair. The new 4,000 foot lift will supplant a classic Mueller center pole double called Skyline, which rises just over 1,000 vertical feet.
Sasquatch, situated along a gravel road north of the fast growing city of Chilliwack, British Columbia, also features a Doppelmayr triple chair and newer Mueller beginner lift. Back in December 2017, the resort announced a used Doppelmayr detachable quad chair would replace Skyline, a project which did not end up happening.
Sasquatch Mountain used to be known as Hemlock Valley Resort and is operated by the Berezan Hospitality Group.

Why didn’t they install the detachable quad? And is the detach quad they were going to get going to mission ridge?

I don’t think it is the same one. The high speed quad earmarked for Sasquatch was a non-bubble from Sölden and made it as far as somewhere in Canada. The Mission Ridge one has bubbles and could be from anywhere in Europe.

could sasquatch eventually convert the new fixed grip quad into a detachable?

It depends on how the lift was engineered. Were tower foundations made to spec for a detachable, is the line gauge that of a detachable lift, etc. A lot of high speed quads have been scrapped lately and it baffles me.

Was it the Rettenbachjoch lift from Sölden that made it to Canada? I think it is the only non-bubble detachable at Sölden (unless I am mistaken). Why didn’t the lift at Sasquatch get installed? And where is it now?

Looking like there may be 5-6 new Alphas built this year. So much for the Monarch taking over all of the fixed grip side for the L-P Group. Crazy how fixed grips account for 70 percent of all the projects so far.

Is that because less busy mountains are placing orders now? If so, that’s a good sign

A good season with lots of snow is a good seller for investors.

We’re one of them. We are, however, installing a SkyTrac return tension terminal at Blackjack, since we have make room for the aforementioned Alpha.
