Is the six pack being built at Mont Grand Fonds gonna have the wooden doppelmayr terminals that are common across Europe (Particularly France)? If so, this lift would not only be the first of its kind in Quebec, but also in North America.

Leitner Poma will be debuting a lot of brand new chair models for the 2024-2025 ski season (Mainly at Banff Sunshine Village & Jackson Hole).

Anyone have pictures of the chairs that Sublette will be getting? How different are they from the chairs that Thunder has?

I said those chairs looked like bubble chairs without bubbles.

        By contrast:

        Hello Peter Landsmen,

Out of curiosity, what are all the chair options that are available when ordering a detachable from Leitner-Poma? Also, do you know/can you give me the approximate cost per chair of each option?

        Thanks!

The beauty of LPA is that they’re America based, so you can contact them pretty darn easily. They advertise on this site and the ads are literally for folks like yourself to click on.

Peter might have some industry insight, but if you’re actually serious about buying a detachable I’m sure someone from LPA would love to tell you all about your different carrier options. They responded to my email to go on a factory tour in about 1 day, and I wasn’t about to buy anything.

Cant find mention of a used T-Bar for Cochran’s. Article states twice “Complete the design, engineering plans and permitting for a new surface lift.”

Unless there’s an angel billionaire who want to become a millionaire, I can’t see this project happening. Too many uncertainties as to whether you can get the traffic to make it worthwhile….

Coos County is desperate for economic development but why do they think it’s a good idea to deal with Les Otten. The one time I met him, I counted my fingers after I shook his hand.

I heard from a couple of people at Sandia that they need parts from easy street in Santa Fe to get chair 4 going at Sandia. That’s why it never ran last year and they could not source parts from Poma. 1 said gearbox/drive 1 said controls. I would lean towards the gear box because you could have a couple companies come in and supply new controls. I guess time will tell.

can anyone summarize the Brian Head expansion news? The info I’ve seen almost makes it sound like a housing and neighborhood project, but with a 1,000 acre new ski area above it.

Is this MCP simply expanding the current Brian Head resort and building a new base area with some houses and condos, or is this a separate developer partnering with MCP to basically gift Brian Head a new ski base and wealthy 2nd home owners spending at their mountain? Or something else? Will the new terrain directly connect to existing terrain, or is this a new ski area next door, ala Snow Summit and Big Bear all being branded as “Bear Mountain”?

I hope the new Easy Street reuses the towers and puts the quad’s lifting frames on them, which has been seen in other lifts. I at least hope that the new Easy Street has a midstation at the current top terminal and goes up
