Completely disagree with the freeskier article about reservations. I schedule most trips within a week of going since I like to ski good conditions. Adding reservations in my eyes basically just removes the resort from the pass, since you only can reserve one mountain at once. I just outright probably can’t ski at Aspen, Big Sky, Loon, Taos or Snoqualmie next year, since I’ll be holding Jackson reservations from months in advance. It’s not enough for me to consider replacing my ikon with an Epic pass, but if the other good resorts start to adopt reservations I might actually consider it at some point.
Yeah, it’s great for jackson locals and ikoners who plan 8 months in advance, but it’s beginning to ruin the pass for me.

I don’t recall Taos filling up their reservation quota for any day this past season. I was there for the first day of the big February storm; there wasn’t any mention of Ikon pass holders being denied access due to the daily quota being filled.
You can always cancel your JHMR reservations for certain days and then reserve those same days at any of the other resorts you mentioned, per Ikon’s website.
