The Glade triple at Catamount also appears be down for an indefinite period. I haven’t seen anything from the resort, but on Facebook there were comments in the Indy Pass group that it was “down for the season”. But I have no idea as to the validity of that…

Wonder what happened at Sitzmark? Their Facebook page has been all about prepping for the season for over a month. They just had a ski patrol orientation last week

whats up with so many early gen Unis blowing their gearboxes. I know they are old but there are other HS lifts this old not blowing gearboxes like this. I wonder if the gearbox used in these was weaker than the ones used by Poma of America at this time

‘So many’? I’m not aware of more than a small few. Also, gearboxes are unique components, engineered for that specific installation. The calculations take into account many variables such as bullwheel speed, motor speed, motor input horsepower, and bullwheel torque, among other factors. There’s no ‘these ones were weaker than those ones’ involved. Rob has stated elsewhere that the gear that failed on GE was unexpected.

How come Milly is getting replaced. I have been there on weekends and while its crowded in the morning I don’t see it being particularly bad. Also not sure whats up with the layout of Explorer, doesn’t seem like it unloads in a particularly bad place for begginers.
