I feel for my counterparts out at Bachelor. Losing a central lift is never good, and knowing what goes into the repair they need to do it must be frustrating to have to wait on parts. Hopefully it goes back together smoothly when they get what they need.

Bachelor really should replace the terminals as they are 33 years old, constantly have issues, and run super slow. The towers, quad capacity and alignment are fine. They probably can’t get a new one for next season with it being a record year for installs. Bachelors lift fleet in general is old and worn. 6/8 HSQ are over 25 years old with Skyliner being 33 and Outback 35. They need to start updating them or more keep having severe maintenance issues.

The terminals are basically sound. The lifts of Outback’s generation are pretty solid as well; I don’t work there so there are certainly maintenance issues I’m not aware of but from my understanding their lifts aren’t any worse than ours. Much of the issues of older lifts are availability of certain parts. DS grips (as Outback and Skyline have) are well-supported. Line gear hasn’t really changed since Pine Marten was built. What goons many older lifts is undetected wear and electronic issues.

Jay Peak is also allegedly close to a sale. I have no idea who the new owner will be, but it is looking like there will be someone else in charge come Winter 22/23.
