Still want to know if Lifts 5 and 7 will be pulled out once Mt Holly turns Lift 6 into a high-speed quad. I have a hard time seeing how there is room on the top of the hill for all three termini.

Snowridge will RUN all 5 lifts (MAYBE). not Spin. Spinning is something old ladies do with a sewing machine.

After Sunrise is complete, I wonder if they would re-align Red Pine to be parallel to Orange Bubble stage I + Short Cut and still ends at Red Pine Lodge. So that Red Pine can serve terrains and remove Short Cut lift, making it a back up to Orange Bubble and reduce its lines. After Sunrise gondola is completed two gondolas serving the same start-to-finish (also no terrain/not lap-able) seems excessive after most guests are on the mountain.

I think that would be very unlikely, as the cost of that would be near the cost of a new lift but the parts on Red Pine have quite a few hours. It would be better for VR to focus on other upgrades at PC like Dreamcatcher, Pioneer, and Silverlode.

How about maintaining Red Pine’s curret alignment but add a mid-station before crossing the canyon, say on Doc’s Run? Perhaps they can regrade a cat walk for people to get to Super Condor? But being true Epic fasion, they probably won’t do anything. :(

Really not sure this makes sense. The VAST majority of Orange bubble riders at this point utilize it for top access. After the morning rush, it is not unusual to see no lines at all on OBX. In some ways, it’s one of the least utilized sections of the mountain. With all that said, Sunise should significantly alleviate wait times on OBX allowing easier access for those seeking condor/sunpeak access. Although it seems a bit redundant to build a second similarly aligned gondola it is a desperate need for beginner skiers. When one goes down green level skier will still have egress from the mountain. Canyons does definitely struggle with lap-able terrain, mostly due to incredibly complex land ownership issues.

Im just sorry to see that Cockaigne is closed again…it was not a bad place to learn how to ski and when people can ski and enjoy what it has to offer was a fun atmosphere. The biggest problem is that they are not where the snow flys now and are to small in elevation in order to make more people enjoy it. I have a feeling this is the end of skiing in Cherry Creek, and people are now going to stay at Peak and Peek or Ellicottville.

Great video from Mt. Hood Meadows. I was surprised to see the new Mt. Hood Express is 900HP, based off the info provided on the resort’s lift info page. I wonder why? Perhaps the capacity and profile, as the vertical rise and length are not too significant?

The new Skyliner 6 at Bachelor is listed at 625HP for comparison. Interesting…
