Super curious about Brodie’s revival. I understand they have some legal hurdles to overcome due to clauses written into the deed. Hopefully they successfully navigate those. I have fond memories from HS skiing under the lights on Friday nights with 3 or 4 busloads of my classmates, I would definitely take some runs down memory lane if allowed.

A few years after nearby Jiminy Peak bought Brodie, they shut it down. When they sold, they added a deed restriction forbidding a public ski resort. That kind of deed restriction should be illegal IMO. Very anti-competitive.
I wonder if the new owners buying via a “quitclaim deed” has any implications for honoring that restriction. Probably not.
They may try to go the way of the Hermitage or Windham, and open a *private* ski area. The fact that it’s Florida investors suggests they are more into the real estate/club potential than generating a lot of lift ticket sales. Haystack/Hermitage was owned by Mt Snow before it languished and shut down. Very similar anti-competitive dynamic.

Another Niehues bites the dust for a VistaMap. I know Niehues is retired but I still think Meadows could do better…

Especially when there was no need to change the map to add MHX6.

This new map is a significant downgrade imo

I think some of the motivation was to get it all represented on one page, vs. needing a second/insert for Heather Canyon and Private Reserve.
Either way, I’m excited to see how the new MHX helps with crowding at the base.

I’m not gonna lie, the T-Bar express is a pretty disappointing name, especially considering LPA is building such a nice lift at such a small resort.
