I must say that the letter / blog post from about why the North Star lift kept running was a very open and honest one. It is easy to see how such a situation could happen in the real world and commend them for the nature and tone of the letter.

It’s a bit concerning that management of an area would put a lift in bypass and send up the head of lifts to ride it to see what’s up. Why not just snowmobile up the lift line? Is riding a lift in bypass to diagnose an issue standard ops? I assume this is a no-go option if public has loaded the lift?
I bet their insurance and/or NYS will require them to rewrite policies on this. This could’ve ended very badly.

On Snow Ridge: skiers liked that moment. I liked that moment. Adults should hold themselves accountable for failure.

very classy and good to see people accepting accountability for their mistakes makes me trust that person more. Lessons learned from this will help others. No one killed, or injured.
