Does anyone think that the Eagle Bahn accident could have anything to do with the number of hours on the lift?

The two indoor lifts were originally built by Doppelmayr in 2009. There is a quad and a platter. Both lifts are 708 feet long by 118 vertical feet. The quad has a capacity of 2400 per hour and a speed of 360 feet per minute. The platter has a capacity of 350 per hour and a speed of 300 feet per minute. There are a few pictures available of both lifts on the internet. I believe both have towers hanging from the ceiling to provide an unobstructed slope.
Even though they are now 10 years old, they have yet to carry a single passenger. Since they have been inside the whole time, I am sure they remain in immaculate condition.

In the Steamboat article, the guy on the right on top of the tower is a friend of mine, cool seeing him post pics of the progress on FB. That gondola is going to be really nice.

I seriously hope that Stevens is going to be moving away from that godawful brown thing they’ve been doing with their terminals. Doesn’t match any of their logos or branding and it looks terrible. I think if they want to better suit their logo they’d have to go with something blue and white. Either that or they go with a distinct color to the PNW and go with a dark evergreen color mixed with white. Hell, at this point I think anything’s better than what they’ve been doing. This brown just puzzles me and it sure as hell doesn’t look nice either.

Even the most well maintained and serviced lifts will have unexpected mechanical failures. Just bad timing for Vail is all.

Bull wheel issue? Something that would rule out the aux drive from being used..

Tower 11 experienced significant damage, somehow bolts sheered and part of the top tower separated from the bottom tower. It will be closed for quite a while.
